Who gets it automatically
Some airlines — including ITA Airways for Business Class and SkyPriority-status passengers — include Fast Track access automatically as part of the fare or status tier, so it's worth checking your ticket before paying separately.
Is it worth it during peak hours
The value of Fast Track scales with how busy the standard lane is — on a quiet mid-morning departure it may save only a few minutes, but during weekend or holiday peaks, when Fiumicino's record passenger volumes concentrate at the same checkpoints, a €10 fee that saves 20–30 minutes of standing in a queue is generally a good trade, particularly if your connection or bag-drop cutoff is tight.
